Look at this wood! A stunning Ti Black and 22k gold plated Sierra Elegant Beauty single-twist pen wrapped in a gorgeous piece of buckeye burl. The wood is carefully hand-turned, sealed with 10 coats of cyanoacrylate glue and then hand sanded in an 11-step process ending in a 12,000 mesh. As a final step, two-coats of Renaissance Wax is then applied to bring out the luster of the wood. The photos simply do not show the beauty of this pen!
For us, it’s not about the honey–though we sure do love it! It’s really about the bees. Honey is simply a measure of the successes and failures we experience trying to create the right balance for our bees to prosper. Workers bees will visit 2,000,000 flowers and fly 55,000 miles to make just 1 pound of honey. Foragers may make 10 trips a day and will visit 50 – 100 of the exact same type of flower per trip. This makes honeybees responsible for 80% of all pollination and provides us with 95 different fruits and vegetables that would not exist without them. Read more bee facts.

The queen can lay up to 2000 eggs per day (her approximate body weight) in the heat of summer. She is unable to clean or feed herself and relies entirely on attendants for her survival. If the hive decides to swarm, the bees will chase the queen around the hive so she looses sufficient weight to fly. Read more bee facts.
